In this procedure, small stab wounds are made in the abdominal wall, usually hidden by clothing or folds.

The selected areas are prepared by infiltrating special fluids.

Special bullet-nosed tubes called suction cannulae are inserted and the fat is sucked out.

As the area heals, the skin and soft tissues usually contract.
