In this procedure the skin and soft tissue that lies between the Umbilicus(belly button) and the upper part of the pubic mound is removed

The soft tissues of the upper abdomen (Ribcage to umbilicus) are then mobilised and moved downwards to attach to the pubis

In the process the sheath of the abdominal muscles is usually tightened and strengthened

The umbilicus is re-positioned

There is a long scar from hip to hip and a smaller scar around the umbilicus
